The traditional Harz cheese dairy

The traditional acid curd cheese dairy Loose GmbH & Co KG has been part of the Theo Müller Group since 1998. The Harz cheese dairy, which moved to Saxony in January 2005, has maintained masterly production of home-made style hand-formed cheese, Harz Yellow Cheese and sour milk cheese with blue cheese mould cultures for more than 80 years.

In 2002, the Rehkopf and Esko cheese factories were taken over. The modern Rusack cheese dairy in Harsleben, situated on the edge of the Harz mountains, was taken over in 2003. The Rehkopf, Bönsel/Esko and Harzbube brands acquired are carefully integrated in the product portfolio.

A total of more than 18,000 t of sour milk and soft cheese is produced at the Leppersdorf and Harsleben (Saxony-Anhalt) locations. With a share of around 9% of the soft cheese market, the company is an important speciality supplier in Germany.
